Renegades unable to overcome errors, shut out by division leading Outlaws

June 20, 2021 Renegades v. Outlaws Recap Sunday’s meeting between the Jefferson City Renegades and the Joplin Outlaws did not turn out as the Renegades had hoped. The Outlaws started off early offensively, picking up one run in the top of the first. Joplin then added two in the second. Then one in the third. Two in the fourth. One in the sixth. And finally, four in the eight. Meanwhile, Jefferson City scored none. Following fifteen hits for the Outlaws, compared to only three hits and three errors for the Renegades, the game ended one inning early. Joplin had run-ruled Jefferson City, 11-0. After a less-than-ideal end to their homestand, the Renegades will look to turn their luck around at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Vivion Field against the Outlaws yet again. <<Back to Renegades Home                                                                                               More Game Recaps>>

Anderson's big night propels Renegades to a win, Shut out of Bombers

June 18, 2021 Renegades v. Bombers Recap Friday night’s outing between the Jefferson City Renegades and the Sedalia Bombers got off to a very slow start. Though the Renegades were able to put a few runners on, even loading the bases at one time, four scoreless innings passed before any type of crossing the plate would occur. Finally, in the bottom of the fifth inning, Carter Mize reached first on a walk and was subsequently brought home by a homerun from Hamilton Anderson to put Jefferson City ahead, 2-0. The Bombers once again failed to score in the top of the sixth inning, and Jefferson City remained offensively hot. Four more Renegades added to the team’s lead; Dawson Shuemann and Ale Claro both scoring following singles, plus Caden Diel, following a walk, and Brady Voss, following a hit by pitch, both coming home from a double by Anderson. Jefferson City continued to hold Sedalia to zero runs throughout the remainder of the game, picking up one additional run in the bottom of the e

Late Night Thriller, Renegades Comeback to Beat Mudcats 13-12

June  1 4 , 2021 Renegades v.  Mudcat s  Recap   Monday night’s outing between the Jefferson City Renegades and the Chillicothe Mudcats can only be described as an offensive showdown.     The Mudcats jumped out to an early lead, and one that did not look good for the Renegades. With two outs, a combination of hits, errors and passed balls moved Chillicothe around the bases and brought in four runs.     Singles from Brady Voss and Carter Mize, followed by a sacrifice fly from Hamilton Anderson and a single from K aden Helsel, would allow Voss and Mize to come home, making the score 4-2 after the first inning.     Both the Mudcats and the Renegades would each pull in one run in the second inning, Jefferson City doing so through singles from David Dell and Mize, a hit by pitch for Voss and an error that allowed Caden Diel on base.     Following a scoreless third inning, the Chillicothe offense exploded again in the top of the fourth off a series of doubles and walks. The team’s three

A Grand Slam puts Renegades behind, Lose to Bombers 6-2

June  1 3 , 2021 Renegades v.  Bomber s  Recap     Sunday night was the first game of a six-game homestand for the Jefferson City Renegades, and the team faced off against the Sedalia Bombers to kick off the busy week.     The first inning began off rather uneventful, as strong defenses on both sides recorded three up, three down.     In the top of the second inning, however, things took a turn for the worse for the Renegades. A series of singles and a walk pulled in one run for the Bombers and left the bases loaded for Sedalia’s Gideon Antel, who stepped up to the plate and knocked a grand slam over the fence off of Renegades starting pitcher Trenton Morrow.     Jefferson City was unable to answer in the bottom of the second and, following a pitching substitution in which Morrow was replaced by Braydon Boyer, the third inning began  with a score of 5-0 .     With the start of the third, it seemed as though the second inning had never happened. Both defenses returned to the field jus
