Renegades unable to overcome errors, shut out by division leading Outlaws

Sunday’s meeting between the Jefferson City Renegades and the Joplin Outlaws did not turn out as the Renegades had hoped.

The Outlaws started off early offensively, picking up one run in the top of the first.

Joplin then added two in the second.

Then one in the third.

Two in the fourth.

One in the sixth.

And finally, four in the eight.

Meanwhile, Jefferson City scored none.

Following fifteen hits for the Outlaws, compared to only three hits and three errors for the Renegades, the game ended one inning early.

Joplin had run-ruled Jefferson City, 11-0.

After a less-than-ideal end to their homestand, the Renegades will look to turn their luck around at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Vivion Field against the Outlaws yet again.

Renegades split Double Header with A's, both teams win 1

  June  5 , 2021 Renegades v.  A’ s Recap     Saturday marked the first of multiple double headers for the Jefferson City Renegades, as well as the team’s first outing against the Clarinda A’s.     It would prove to be a back-and-forth night between the two, resulting in two similar games with two opposite outcomes.     The first game kicked off slowly, with neither team scoring until the bottom of the third inning when Jefferson City’s Tommy Reuther sent a solo shot over the centerfield fence to put the Renegades up 1-0.     Reuther, recording  three  fantastic catches in leftfield for Jefferson City in addition to his homerun ,  would be the team’s offensive and defensive star of the game.     While the team maintained their lead through the scoreless fourth inning, it painfully slipped away in the top of the fifth. Anderson's big night propels Renegades to a win, Shut out of Bombers

June 18, 2021 Renegades v. Bombers Recap Friday night’s outing between the Jefferson City Renegades and the Sedalia Bombers got off to a very slow start. Though the Renegades were able to put a few runners on, even loading the bases at one time, four scoreless innings passed before any type of crossing the plate would occur. Finally, in the bottom of the fifth inning, Carter Mize reached first on a walk and was subsequently brought home by a homerun from Hamilton Anderson to put Jefferson City ahead, 2-0. The Bombers once again failed to score in the top of the sixth inning, and Jefferson City remained offensively hot. Four more Renegades added to the team’s lead; Dawson Shuemann and Ale Claro both scoring following singles, plus Caden Diel, following a walk, and Brady Voss, following a hit by pitch, both coming home from a double by Anderson.
